Selera Cik Siti @ Kota Bharu

It was amazing to sit and see people come and go, some not even get the chance to eat as the restaurant was full... and some after some time came back hoping that somebody had finished their meal.... hai macam parking lot kat Jusco di hari minggu pulak...

we had to sit outside.... gelap je lah

In Kelantan, majority of the shops have signage in Jawi...so this  restaurant has a long signage , one lot is written in jawi and another lot  written in rumi.

Kat luar pun penuh....
So what is so special about this restaurant... I heard it has marvellous chicken chop...original recipe

teringat-ingat sampai ke hari ni....
The sauce was so special, it was my first time eating chicken chop without asking for chilli sauce. Though the fries seemed so few, but it has toasted bread as a side dish as well. The salad was also very fresh and yes... overall rate was a 5 stars. This superb meal only cost RM8.50.

Camne nak kurus...
As for a starter, we ordered a set of fried popia... somehow it was a bit oily and not crunchy... may be the cook was worried about the time as Mr H did ask how long it will take them to ready the meal... you see , there were so many customers, we imagined we had to wait long...but they managed to get the meal ready as per promised time.

Lupa how much but it was less than RM20

Mr. H had ordered a plate of steak, the portion was quite generous, thus enough for me as well...hehehe. He also ordered loncong for a drink. The restaurant has many choices of drink with fancy names.... and so many I end up ordered a glass of kopi 'O' for myself.... itule masalahnya kalau dah pening nak pilih... hehehe.

Kopi 'O", sirap and loncong in a giant glass.... fuhyooo...
A loncong is actually a kind of cendol but with many kind of jelly inside.... if only I knew how big it was, we should only ordered one loncong and 2 glasses of sky juice... hehehe.

tahan... tahan... jangan tergoda....
As Kelantanese mostly have sweet tooth, most of restaurants have dessert as well. At the counter, they displayed few traditional kuih, custard puffs, cakes etc...

Nasib baik rest roomnye lawa... kalau tak boring mama tunggu Ayra oiii.....

Dah kalau bawa Ayra... confirm kena melawat tempat ni.... huhuhu.

Food heaven in Kota Bharu

Usually when we are at kampung, we hardly eat out, as mum's cooking is something that we crave for. Since my father was warded at Kota Bharu, we had no choice but to eat out, and the fact that it has been long since we dare to face the bad traffic in Kota Bharu ( especially during school break), we were so thrilled by the choice of food its offered. With my father who at that time was recovering and after few days of not eating, wanted some food that excite him. Let see some of the food that we discovered during our stay

the stall exist since I was young... now operated by the son

The famous CPT( cendol pulut tapai) , the stall located near stadium and Perdana hospital.

you cannot find this at any pasar malam in KL

This is dried squid , roasted and rolled by hand in a mini machine. Eat with a special sauce.... one of my favourite snack.

shocking.....
Opps this is not from J.Co or Big Apple okay.... this is from Muhibbah Bakery and its taste 97% the same as the other two, and if you buy a dozen , it will only cost you RM17 . If not, a piece will cost you RM1.80.

in kelantan we call this taxi

The above is not food okay... it just something that hardly seen in any other state except Melaka... in Melaka however it is more of tourist activities but in Kelantan it is still used as another mode of transportation.

What is constant in life is change....

During balik kampung, we managed to bring Naaz Dhia to optical store as she claimed she cannot see what was written on the blackboard in her classroom... so the optometrist confirmed that she is shortsighted with 75 power each side...

specky Dhia

A week after we came back to KL, there was a sad news, Tok Ayah had passed away... so off we went back again to kampung...

Tok Ayah in memory.....1909-2012.....Aiz might not remember that he  once had sat on Tok Ayah's lap.
And not even a fortnight after, Tok Ki was warded due to viral fever and his condition was quite bad , it had affected his liver..... and off I went back again to kampung by bus  and Mr H with Ayra came back few days later...

Our beloved Tok Ki with Daneen
At the time I'm writing this.... he was already discharged after warded for more than 3 weeks .... alhamdulillah....

Balik Kampung through Gua Musang

Whenever there is a public holiday especially when it falls on Friday or Monday, everybody will go for a vacation...yes of course , this is the time to spend with your loves one... as a working mother, I always wish to go for a vacation at  interesting places.... however I'm also a working daughter who rarely spend time with my parents... so whenever there is a long break, we normally end up "balik kampung". So here is another story of "balik kampung".
LPT ke Gua Musang... LPT ke Gua Musang....??

Lately we used to travel a lot via LPT, for it is highway vs trunk road... but this time we used Gua Musang route....sajer tukar angin...

We stopped at Bentong for our breakfast after spotting people queue at this stall.

stall yang ade periuk belanga tu...

Really, nasi kerabu, nasi dagang and pulut manis kelapa we ate had a "wow factor"..... and I asked stupid question to Mr H like this.... " Can we come here just for breakfast?"... hehehe of course kena jeling habis....

It would taste heavenly if only we could munch  the delicious meal slow and peaceful,  Daneen somehow had cried out loud throughout the breakfast just because she wanted to go here...

buka 24 jam....
which located just opposite the stall....everybody at the stall was curious .... kena dera ke budak ni.?.... hehehe.

Since its been long since we last used Gua Musang route,  we were not aware of  few new road which were under construction, and some nice sightseeing like this...

Musim luruh di Padang Tunku...
and a new R & R at Gua Musang....

Ample... and nice....

It was a smooth journey accept for certain part of the road which was damaged by the flood and not repaired yet... It took us 7 long hours ... a saving of 1.5 hours and few kilometres (vs LPT).

tengok ape tuuu?
In the car, the kids complained that they were tired but when reached at Tok Ki's place... they did not rest but......to be continue....

How to eat oranges

Lets demonstrate this with pictures...

Oh nooo.. this is the last piece....
Make sure that you eat more than other people do.....

Do you think mum will add some more?

Put the slice to cover all your mouth....

I don't care if my hair  mop the table top....

Bend your head like this to ensure all the sweet juice sucked.....

With all my sucking force.....

Use both hands to make sure the slice stays....

tu...wa...ga...habih....
Finally arrange the orange peel in a row like this....

The end.
