Muslim Chinese Restaurant, Mohd Chan @ Bangi

Mr H and I have fancied to eat Dim Sum one day and we went to this place for we wanted to eat a chinese cuisine made by chinese people... barulah original.

Haa besar lambang halal tuu....
The location of the shop is at section 7, Bangi. You may notice in the above photo, there were dim sum and pau big steamers at the entrance. The dim sum price was RM3.80 per plate and they had 3 tiny dim sums in each plate.... for me the taste was really delicious.

Mushroom, vegetable and chicken dim sums

We also ordered chicken rice and wantan mee. Naaz finished off the whole plate of chicken rice all by herself. However the wantan mee sauce was too heavy for my taste.

Hokk aloh... tak dan nak rasa dah habis!

hite le'ge kuahnya.... kalau kurang pekat... lagi sedap.

They also have other menu which  they hung the big picture of the menu on the wall.... very interesting...

Boleh kecur air liur tengok big menu ni....

Take a break - Part 5

Well ok... I think its time to teach the kids a little bit about.... life... I mean sex education that I dread so much. The reason is because of the TV shows nowadays are so open when showing the kissing and touching parts that I'm afraid the kids will get wrong ideas about it.

Parents: try to use simple language when explaining things to kids

The conversation was more or less like this ;

Mum : You know... you are not allowed to kiss and touch unless you are married

Kids : Why?

Parents: 'Why' is a common question, so be prepared

Mum: Errr...

Mum : Because by doing that you might end up pregnant and you will give birth to a baby ( may be it is good to scare them a little to protect them ... yes!). You don't want to have and care for a baby all by yourself right.

Naaz Dhia : So you and papa have married 5 times, am I right?...( I have 5 kids, remember..... )

Mum:...????

Dear Dhia.... mama never counts how many times mama and papa  have married to have you and 4 others.... hahaha
Parents: May be better leave this area to professional..... arrrgh help....

Ana Ikan Bakar Petai

At Tanjung Lumpur, Kuantan
Remember this photo from the previous entry... Mr H drove all the way from Gambang to Kuatan which took about 35 minutes... just to have  fresh seafood at Tanjung Lumpur. So upon arriving... find a place to sit ... mind you, there were so many people there that night even to walk to your table was hard as the place was almost full and the table was located very near to each other.....

Then you go and choose what to eat from the display box, all fresh, few types of fish, lala, squids, prawns, crabs etc etc and choose how you want it to be cooked. Since the name of the shop is taken from its special menu, bakar petai is a must...

Before opening the wrapping.....ikan barat.... first time tasted.

Tak nampak petai pun.... hemmm good for me!
Other menu....

Steam siakap

Sweet & Sour lala... so yummy!

Crunchy squid...
their service was quite fast despite many customers.... "adik better be fast ye...or else these two boys will not only sit but  rolling on the table"... hehehe

We also ordered Kailan ikan masin,2 set of satar as starter, white rice and fruit drinks...  the total cost was RM108... the food was all delicious and the pricing was so reasonable... therefore when we were back at home, two days after, we went to Ana ikan bakar petai at Bangi... hahaha yes we are crazy sometimes...

Bangi outlet

Bangi has fresh fish?

The Bangi outlet is more spacious and comfortable.... the seafood is still fresh but a little bit expensive as compared to Tanjung Lumpur.....we will definitely go again next time but not so soon because the kids think they had enough of ikan bakar for the week... hahaha

Bukit Gambang Water Park

Towards the end of CNY  break we had a wedding invitation in Kuantan and since we stuck at home only and Dhia had made a claim like " Mama its been ages since we last go to water park" we decided to go one day earlier and went to Bukit Gambang Water Park.

Few more kilometers.....
Finally we reached the entrance...

Jom cari parking....

Then, purchased the tickets, they have promotion now for the ticket. We cannot bring cash inside so you  have to reload a prepaid wristband  using e-value system to purchase all things inside...

Babies with their babysitters... waiting for the tickets

which one to go first....

Aiz, have you decided?
Mr H had to queque few times... for tickets, for locker, for tube....and finally after all were ready... it started to rain...arrrggh

Everybody  felt restless waiting so when the rain started to drizzle we walked to Coco Beach....

Why they had terrified looks?.....its not tsunami lah darlings
Then we moved to Penguin Island....

Another babysitter.... hehehe
The park closed at 6 pm....and after the soaking and splashing, our stomach started to growl...we had our dinner at this place which will be posted in another entry.

Take a break - Part 4

Sometimes after a scary movie or for no apparent reasons, the girls are still sleeping with their eldest brother (or the other way around...heheh). So one day, I told them that boys and girls cannot sleep together even if they are siblings. I think I said like this;

"In Islam,  when you grow up, boys and girls cannot sleep together in one room"

Then suddenly Ayra protested " But Mama, why you and Papa sleep together?"

I was speechless....

Parents:... silent cannot satisfy curious child....

Akeef and Aiz ......12 years of age difference

After a while I managed to answer " We can sleep together because we are married but siblings cannot marry..."

Should I start teaching them sex education now?

Red velvet by the lazy chef and little excited chefs

Long CNY break without activities will drive mum crazy as bored kids will nag and nag. Since everybody is baking red velvet like the cake is so easy to make... I think I can try , even if it is a failure... at least we had some activities... yieyyy

bahan-bahannye ye puan-puan....
2 1/2 cups (250 grams) sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2
tablespoons (15 grams) of cocoa powder
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups (300 grams) granulated white sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk
2 tablespoons liquid red food coloring
1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar

1 teaspoon baking soda

Since I don't have the weight scale.... I know... I Know... waiting for a bonus to buy one .... hahaha... at least I have an excuse to cover my laziness... ngehngeh, all measurement therefore was done using the plastic cup as in the picture above.

Introducing the little chefs
Apart from the ingredients, the lazy chef also need helpers... to do this and that, take this and that from fridge, from the shelf etc-etc.

Buttermilk in the making... buttermilk mana ade kat econsave!!

First of all, we made buttermilk by adding one tablespoon of vinegar to one cup of full cream milk and leave it for 15 minutes.

If you are lazy, of course you do not sift the flour ... errr like me
Put the flour, cocoa powder and salt in a bowl

It will not lumpy if you have 2 helpers like this....
In the mixer bowl, put butter and sugar...

The lazy chef was so lazy... she used granulated sugar...
By this time the sound of mixer had attracted another little chef to the kitchen.....

Your smile had added sweetness to the cakelah darling
Just watch ok darling....

Do you think Daneen would just watch?

Add 2 eggs

Add red colouring...
Look!... the granulated sugar sudah hancur.... don't worrylah kak Kiah ye.....

Laju... laju....

Then, you add the mixed flour alternate with buttermilk... little by little....   add together the vinegar with baking powder and lastly add them to the mixture....

preheat the oven ye...
Finally bake the cake at 185 degree for 30 to 45 minutes...

let it cool before you put the cream

The cream cheese was so easy to make even Aiz can do it, just mix 250g whipping cream, 250g cream cheese and one cup of icing sugar

hok alohhh......

Cut the cake into half... please ignore the crack....

Put the filling in between...

The lazy design.... just sprinkle anything you have like chocolate chips.... the cake crumb also can....

Mane ade crack... tak de.. tak de.....
should put more filling.... tak nampak pun
Red Velvet cake  for  tea break anyone??
